CHRISTOPHER MATHIE, BIOGRAPHY
Christopher Mathie is a Washington-based painter celebrated for vibrant, energetic abstractions inspired by the Pacific Northwest coast. For more than three decades, he has transformed water, rocks, shoreline and marine life into expressive compositions existing somewhere between reality and imagination. Working in mixed media, Mathie builds layers of rich color, texture and bold, spontaneous marks, allowing each painting to evolve intuitively on the canvas. His work reflects both confidence and freedom, inviting viewers to experience the movement, emotion and energy within each piece. Mathie’s paintings are held in private and corporate collections throughout the United States and internationally today.
