When you look at Tom Lynch's paintings, be prepared to surrender your imagination to an exciting world of shimmering color and captivating mood. Characterized by a romantic quality of unusual and dramatic lighting, each painting is infused with a feeling for the passing of time and the essence of the moment. Whether his subjects be secluded woods, a sparkling winter day, a turbulent sky or a serene lake, Tom has developed the skill to capture that essence on paper.

In addition to being a successful painter, Tom is a natural teacher who is especially intuitive in developing his students’ individual needs. For 30 years, students from all over the world have attended his successful workshops. When Tom speaks, he talks openly and candidly, sharing everything he knows about art with his students.

In his five award-winning PBS television series and numerous videos, Tom has been happy to share his expertise and knowledge with his students. He has written five books on watercolor, and his latest, 'Tom Lynch’s Watercolor Secrets', has received national and international acclaim. In Tom's books, TV series, tapes and workshops, he taps into the creative process, prodding the creative instinct, gently pushing the student to explore and fulfill his or her own artistic abilities. Many of them have gone on to become successful professionals in their own right.

Tom's credentials include election into the illustrious Society of American Impressionists and 'Who's Who in American Art', as well as signature membership in many national watercolor societies. Tom was honored with a solo exhibition in the American Embassy in Paris, France. He has been featured in numerous art publications, as well as the 'Wall Street Journal'. Tom's video production won a Bronze Award in the 'Telly' Competition, which focuses on video production and compares to the Academy Awards Program. Some of Tom's numerous awards include Landscape Artist of the Year and The Municipal Art League of Chicago Lifetime Achievement Award of Excellence. Tom was the first American selected for Honorary Membership in the Canadian Watercolor Society. He was the featured artist for the men's, women's and seniors US Open Golf Championships and several PGA events and tournaments. Much of Tom's work has been published, and some of his best paintings are available as limited edition prints. It is no surprise that his paintings are included in private and corporate collections throughout the world.
